In 2007 the team started to work on the LUR2. The radical engine concept of the LUR1 was changed to a more conventional 600cc, 4 cylinder engine. The team still decided to spice things up a bit though, by mounting the engine as a fully stressed member of the chassis. Further weight saving was achieved by constructing the suspension arms out of carbon fibre.
At Formula Student UK 2008, the team unfortunately failed to score points at the dynamic events again. However, improvements at the static events meant the team could outdo their last result with a 46th place finish out of 72.
