Cooling Design

Main Task

Several components on the car, such as the motors, inverters, and accumulator require cooling. We are seeking three enthusiastic students to design an integrated cooling system for these critical parts from the ground up. With a solid grasp of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer, you will play an important role in ensuring the drivetrain operates at its peak.

Your Profile

Being independent and able to work without very strict guidelines is important since much is up to you on how you want to design the system. There’s really no upper limit on how much can be done since the system can be configured in many ways. Experience within heat transfer or CFD is a plus, more relevant however is experience in simulations on heat transfer systems on a lower level than CFD. Since the cooling system partly guides the design of the accumulator as well as the aerodynamic system, you will be working closely with the aero and monocoque team as well as the people responsible for the accumulator container. Because of this, being a skilled communicator will serve you well.
