Brakes & Pedals

Main Task

The LFS car brakes at up to 2 g thanks to the high downforce design, slick tires and a well designed brake system. You will, together with other members, design the pedalbox, brakelines, brake discs, calibers but also the emergency brake system that is required in every Formula Student car that is competing in the driverless class. This task involves a lot of communication between different subteam since the system is mounted through the whole car. The design job will include both mechanical, pneumatic, thermal and fluid analysis.

Your Profile

You should have an interest in computational mechanics and be comfortable in CAD. It is beneficial to have basic knowledge in transmissions and heat transfer as well. You should also have great communication skills in order to create a well designed brake system.
