A formula student car is a dangerous machine, both because of the high voltage used in the tractive system, but also simply because it is a large, (hopefully not too) heavy, moving object.
The responsibility of the Safety Systems position includes hardwired logic to both indicate to people around the car what the state of the high voltage system is, as well as detecting faults and shutting the car off in certain cases. This also includes integrating for example the battery management system with the other safety functions.
Your Profile
You should have an interest in embedded electronics. Both hardware design, assembly, verification, and testing. You should be comfortable with discrete digital logic as well as analog sensor signals. You will be responsible for lots of little parts around the car, so communication with other subsystems will be important!
